'I have fine legs for a granny…..’

The new Martha’s Grandad collection features vintage lace which is a nostalgic nod to my Grandmother’s petticoat and is recognised for its strong cobalt blue.

The petticoat was found in a vintage small leather suitcase hidden in the loft. A fond memory came back to life of my Grandmother lifting her skirt above her knees and dancing with her petticoat showing and singing ‘I have fine legs for a granny…..’

A strong feature of the range is the embossed pattern which is emphasised by the gold or platinum banding around the edge.

Other fond memories include tea and cake, which is now reflected in the new range which has blue and white flowers added, associated with my grannie’s blue & white tea cup and afternoon with Uncle Frank and Auntie Edith
